Just Run

February 23, 2012

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” –1 Peter 5:7

Read: 1 Peter 5

Depending on when you open this entry, I’m doing one of many things. Check your watch. If it’s early, and the sun is rising, be assured I’m dodging traffic and anticipating yellow lights. If it’s mid morning, I’m tapping my toes with my face plastered against the airplane window. And if it’s around noon, I’m sprinting. I’ve let go of my baggage, thrown my head back and my arms are wide open. After weeks of touring, speaking and serving…I’m almost home.

Friends, life is a quick trip; a short but often brutal bridge. On it we sometimes get trampled. Being Friday, maybe you can relate. Have you been overlooked this week? Ignored rather than recognized? Maybe you’re struggling to cope with a troubled teen, financial hardships or health concerns. Whatever your recent trip of life has you burdened with, do what I am doing today. Drop the baggage and throw your head back. The One who knows you best, loves you most. So just run.

Jimmy – just wanted to say I really enjoy your daily PrayFit messages….your way of including fittness with Faith is amazing…….I love it and your words are always so meaninful and most of the time, fits exactly what I’m going through or exactly what I’m missing and needed to hear…..so, THANK YOU! I look forward to each morning to see what wonderful advice you have to share! God Bless!

Thanks! I so needed this today!! Thank my Lord that it is finally Friday!
See you at baggage claim come Monday morning!!! As much as I hate my baggage some days, I do look forward to the security it provides! Have a blessed weekend!

Boy, how we relate to a devotion with the analogy of traveling. Bone weary, but so glad to be home…we join you at the baggage carosel.

Like you, Jimmy, we are grateful for the places God takes us and the experiences He gives us
along the way. And also like you…it is good to be home. If our temporary “homecomings” are this good…Wow…that final one is beyond our imagination and description. Can’t wait!

How I love Jesus! Thank you Jimmy for this lovely Friday message. Sometimes are burdens seem so great but when we look into the eyes of Jesus we know we can overcome any obstacles that have been put into our way. Just look at what he has done for us!

Thanks for the encouragement. It has been a challenging week, but I have been blessed over and over through the positive words of scripture and this daily message. I am trying to be more physically active to manage the stress that comes along with raising teens. Please say a prayer for the healing power of the Holy Spirit to invade my son and liberate him. I want nothing more than for him to run free…away from current temptations in his lfe and into the peace that comes when we are at home, knowing who we are in Jesus.

Thank you Jimmy! I try to get to the gym–GoodLife–whenever I can. You encourage me with your devotions. I really need the encouragement. I am struggling with depression . I do know that God is my Source but right now I feel like I have run out of everything. I feel like the desert.–dry—-wind-blown in every direction.
I am happy for you! Enjoy your time at home and loved ones.
I am looking forward to your next article. I save them, so I am going to back-track now. I need more of God!
Thank you so much for being here for me.. May God richly bless you!!

Thanks so much for the devotional. Had a really down day Friday – today I have put on the upbeat praise tape and as I praise Him, I drop the baggage! Love this website. What a find!
